Social Value

More than saving money

Whilst saving money is a significant motivator for introducing more effective systems and programmes we should not under-estimate the social values and benefits that can also be delivered. These are called positive outcomes. Although they can be harder to quantify in terms of money, they do have the potential to change people’s perception of the world and, accordingly, begin to change and influence behaviour.

Our experience in the UK is that social value is only now being taken seriously and there are widespread attempts to “retro-fit” it to our systems.  Abu Dhabi has the opportunity to include social value from the start, as well as being able to monetize the impact through introducing Social Return on Investment (SROI) measurements, a system that shows the real value of interventions.

We ensure new programmes are able to measure outputs (the number of people helped, jobs created etc) as well as positive outcomes (changes in behaviour, increased self-confidence and self-worth etc).

Involving partners in delivering social value

Concora is a socially responsible Social Enterprise with a commitment to supporting the communities in which we work, which is why we re-invest into local community initiatives.

Social responsibility

Concora is a Social Enterprise based on strong ethical values which run throughout the core of our work. We believe in working collaboratively with a wide range of stake-holders so as to create sustainable solutions to tackle local issues and make a positive difference to the lives of the people with whom we work. We want to help create a culture of giving and generosity so as to help create a society that focuses on inclusive growth in which no-one feels excluded or left behind.

We do this in a number of ways, by:
• Being a supportive employer with a focus on the health and wellbeing of our staff
• Looking to employ local people in our programmes, so as to create greater, future sustainability
• Encouraging all our suppliers and sub-contractors to develop their own social responsibility policies if they are not already in place
• Investing in community projects in the areas in which we are working
• Having clear environmental policies that limit our carbon emissions and enable recycling
• Measuring and sharing our social impact
